French Fries & Ice Cream rescue-dog book

Book cover reading French Fries & Ice Cream by Diane Moat, with a small rescue dog being offered a treat

A collection of rescue-dog photographs and personal stories became a coffee-table book created as a fundraiser for the rescue organization. The source photography varied considerably in quality and resolution, so the design needed to make thoughtful use of each image while establishing a consistent visual language. Working from the client’s inspiration for a more formal dog-portrait book, the final direction became warmer and more colorful, with a smaller trim size suited to the owner-contributed photography and bright, candy-like colors creating continuity. The goal wasn’t to make snapshots look professional; it was to give them intention and importance because they were the real record of the dogs in the homes where they were finally loved.
